Biography
Kathleen Carcoba (Kat) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Santa Ana, California. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from California State University, Fullerton in 2026, and her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts from California State University, Los Angeles, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2022.
Carcoba has held positions at California State University, Fullerton as a Graduate Assistant, volunteered as a Sculpture Lab Technician, and served as a Teaching Associate for Three-Dimensional Design. In 2025, she completed a mentorship program at El Camino College in Torrance, California. She currently serves as a Resident Advisor at Grand Center Art Center in Santa Ana and works as a Studio Director and practicing artist.
Her work has been exhibited at the Ronald H. Silverman Gallery at Cal State Los Angeles; the Palos Verdes Art Center in Rancho Palos Verdes; the TSU Gallery, Golleher Alumni House and College of the Arts Gallery: Stan Mark Ryan' 75 Gallery at California State University, Fullerton, including an MFA solo exhibition; the El Camino Art Gallery in Torrance; Laguna Art Gallery in Mission Viejo; and the Grand Central Art Center Glass and Ceramic Art Showcase and Sale in Santa Ana. Her honors include being a two-year recipient of the Millie and Dale Hallberg Scholarship and the Lucina Moses Scholarship at California State University, Fullerton.
As a child, Carcoba spent much of her time outdoors engaging directly with found materials and space. Unaware that these early interactions were forms of sculpture and site-specific installation, she developed a deep connection to material and process that continues to shape her artistic practice today.
